massage therapy

Massage can benefit anyone and everyone. While acute injuries are the most common patients Sarah sees, she also treats on a maintenance and injury-prevention basis. Massage therapy can be effective for the relief of tension headaches, TMJ, most types of back, neck and shoulder pain, hip and pelvic dysfunction as well as general stress management. She also works with patients in any stage of pregnancy.

Some patient cases cannot be addressed with treatment alone, so Sarah will often recommend various stretching, strengthening, or a combination of both, to patients to work on between massage sessions. It is up to the patient to work on these home-care exercises/stretches for as speedy a recovery as possible.

Prices do not include tax.

Myofascial Release

Myofascia, fascia for short, is the connective tissue that holds us humans together. It is the saran wrap that keeps muscles together, yet separate. Like a complex network of pulleys and springs, fascia constantly adjusts as we move. Fascia connects the whole body from the arch of the foot all the way to the scalp allowing for all types of movement.

Myofascial release (MFR) is the application of tension and stretch to specific layers of the fascia to address adhesions, trigger points and scar tissue. Treatment usually feels like slow, controlled stretching. The patient is always in control of the level tension applied and communication is key to stay within every individuals’ comfort boundaries. MFR is an excellent technique for treating most kinds of problems; From releasing neck tension for chronic headache relief, to unwinding abdominal adhesions, to helping with hip and low back pain.

MFR is also an excellent technique for treating scar tissue from injuries and surgeries.

I charge 50% of the cost of the appointment fee for cancellations less than 24 hrs notice before the treatment time. For subsequent appointment no-shows I have to charge 100%. At this time I would like to mention that I do not direct bill for any insurance coverage.
